Holding You As A Baby

If only I was a masterful magician,
I'd travel through time simply by wishing.
Stars twinkle as the fabric of time is torn,
I'll journey back shortly after you were born.
The mission would be secret, only I would know,
to steal a precious moment with you alone.
You are a baby, peacefully napping the breezy summer afteroon,
Mommy is busy preparing a family dinner to be served soon.
I'd quietly sneak in and behold such an angelic sight,
lightly tickle your nose so not to wake you with a fright.
I'd greet you with a quiet smile and gently pick you up,
and hold you close to my heart then wisper very soft.
I'd tell you to play and be happy and love life too,
and never worry about being loved, because I am here for you.
I'd hold you some more like a precious gift,
then put you back down in your safe crib.
I'd tuck you in and kiss you goodbye and leave you with a smile,
I'll tell you that I love you and will see you in a while.
