Night Walking

Walking alone in the night I
wasn't looking when I saw her
she came like a whisper and entered
my life.
I wasn't ready for her but there
she was bold and bright like a
star in the sky.
Never before had I thought that I
would feel like this again, I fought
with all my might.
When it was over I thought I had won.
But now I look back and I see
I had lost, not only her but my soul.
Now by fate I have her back in
my life only to be spoiled by my earlier
aggresions.
For what it was worth I know now
that I passed up my love of a lifetime
for childish desires.
Could my life turn around only God
knows my fate, and I leave it up to
him to carry me on my way to happiness.
But I will never forget her smile or
eyes as long as I close my eyes and
think of her.
