Losing you

I miss you holding my hand,
and saying "Everything will be alright.".
I miss just having you around to talk to,
and having you hold me tight.

I miss being able to talk to you,
without getting in a fight.
I miss my life without you,
the way everything seemed so bright.

I love you more than you'll ever know,
because, Love I can't explain.
I love you more than life itself,
but all I bring you is pain.

If I had the world,
in the palm of my hands,
I'd stretch out my arms to give to you,
somehow you just don't understand.

Somewhere, something went wrong,
Love can be cruel at times.
Hurtful words spoken,
and love no longer is patient and kind.

Many mistakes I have made in my life,
losing myself since you've been gone.
It's no mystery where it is, I gave it to you,
and now maybe that's why I'm left alone.

I can't even seem to laugh with you,
like the way I used to do.
All because somewher along life's path--
I lost my best friend... you!

I can't tell you I'll smile again,
I can promise I will try...
to let you go as you did me, so easily.
And just accept your love for me has died.
