Shine

  
     My slow death
one I cannot avoid
     But, only to deal with 
  Gracefully
and with dignity

    I wake up to the same sun
breathing the same air
    You brush away 
  so unpassionately
Why?


    I love you
and it hurts
   To love you and not see it
 do anything
for you too 

  I was made to love
to kiss and be held
   To smile upon  your face
As the sunset casts
 all the colors of my love
 that I cannot
paint into your ways

  Why you, for me
is there something I'm missing
  I know all there is 
 and have wrung out all the reasons
and that's why....
    I am so exasperated
  left dry
                unloved
And a still tongue
  and following heart
 breathe slow shallow sighs
Into the distant horizon
        Chasing the sunset
Hoping for you to come
   and let my love shine
       once again
