One Word
What more can be said of Love?
The lovers wrapped in quiet books,
What more can be said, what is left?
Starry night and moon, and lover's knowing looks
Eye and thigh, soul and flesh.
Dancing in ancient mythic brooks.
A lover's tale a thousand times expressed,
One word, one word brings lover's hearts to rest
As they lie entwined in their paper beds
Unraveling sorrows with Ariandne's thread.
They call one word, one to the other
Whisper then that sweetest song
Passed down through the ages, the song of the lover.
Whisper one word, one word is left.
Your lover's name!
