for lillian

i hear them walking upstairs
with every creak and moan of the floor boards
they cross over
their voices carrying
their laughter tinkling
like the glasses they carry in hand
the preparations they are making
the life they keep leading
as if nothing has happened

she lies in a bed
with no memory of why
we shed our tears and wonder
what our life would be without her
would our moments be as happy
where would our memories be
if they didn't have her in them
who would i of ever been without her
not who i am now
not without her, ever.

and i shed my tears
we shed our, but they live their life
they make their plans
they go on planning for the party
they will have
as if nothing ever happened

and i sit down here alone
praying to a god i don't know exists
just hoping somene is out there
and listening right now
but who knows anymore
in a world where pain is thrown aside
and moments of happiness taken
for the bubble a child blows

praying to this god
let her live, please
don't take her from me
this woman, this amazing woman
my grandmother
