we happened

so you earned your red wings
and left me breathless and shaking.

when i invited you up to my posh little room
number 1656, the waldorf=astoria,
i had no idea we'd end up how we woke up
my arm slung over your chest, still breathing hard.
your arm over the small of my back, warm from your touch
and wishing i could go back and relive it.

you came in with beer and a smile
that would have won over the steeliest heart.
and it didn't take long to find each other's mouths
and hold on for dear life.
it was going to be a long night.

we must have had this coming,
as it all went so well.
it didn't take more than a lick and a promise
to get where we wanted to go-
i'm up on your list, i hope you can't walk for weeks.

i know it's not over yet, i still can't breathe
without trembling.
