Dumped Like Last Night's Garbage
You sure know how to lie
And hurt others badly
You told me you'd never leave my side
You told me you were sticking by me
That you'd, from now on, be mine
You told me after our date
Ending in a long hug,
That you'd see me in the morning
On the internet.
But come morning I found
Your proxy's note to me
You couldn't dump me yourself
You had to have your daughter
Write it, making excuses and lies
Saying you got sick a half hour
After going home from your date with me.
Thanks for the compliment!
She said it was from dinner
I know it was from me.
I think I've come down
With a good case of heart-poisoning myself....
Today, when I called to see if you had recovered
You wouldn't answer your phone all day.
Even into the night,
When you told me you were
Always there.
So, I see the light
I get the hint.
I'm used to it
Disappointment
Is not the exception
It's the rule
And once more, I'm a fool.
