When I Thought of You Today

When I thought of you today,
 in an instant,
I began to smile.
I thought of all the joy you bring to my life
 with your love, understanding and friendship.
When I thought of you today.

When I thought of holding your hand,
 the earth stood still,
The clouds gave way
 and the sun shone as never before.
I thought of the good times past
 and those yet ahead.
When I thought of you today.

When I thought of your face
And how the mere mention of your name
 makes all that is wrong suddenly right
How knowing you love me makes me strong
 where I am weak,
My heart began to race and I could hardly speak.
All of this happened....
When I thought of you today.
