A Traveller's Wish
If I were a prince instead of a frog,
Or a wolf instead of a dog;
A heart instead of a stone
Or the fragrance of love instead of a pheromone:
I'd be a chaperone, instead of home alone,
To Deevaa, as she risks her life going to another country,
All just to take a chance
On finding romance;
A risk she gladly takes,
Even though hers is the tender heart of a lady...
If I were a chaperone, it would only be
To fiercely guard this heart of hers
And let it not be touched
By any sordid man
Of any kind,
Who might try to deceive her
With false heart and lying words.
I would be her guardian angel
Sent to travel with her
To keep her in good company,
Grant her joy and safety,
And, even more than this, bring her back unharmed
After finding the heart that's all hers,
And a charming one at that,
As well as her being happy to be all his too,
Knowing for sure, of his faithfulness:
I would seal her to such a lovely fate
Because which she is well deserving of it:
As the reward for her always seeking
The path of true love.
