on seeing a mole in the mirror
It is said that true love
changes character
and the nature of yours has been this -
in showing me that placing
emotional band-aids over these kinds
of scars only hides them
and veils my understanding
therefore a more permanent healing
But that was not all
to the depth of your affection
You have taken the time to
show me the reflections of these
scars whose healing
I only paid lip service to
Now where I once only saw blemishes
I see beauty marks
in the mirror of you
