for so long
i've thought
what the words would sound like
coming from his mouth
i love you
whispered
or shouted
or just simply spoken
and i wanted to hear
just out of curiosity(yeah right)
just to keep as a little memory
in my head
and i wanted to tell him the same
that i loved him more than anything
so he would know i feel it too
then he said it
those words
and they sounded just as beautiful as i thought they would
whispered, it turns out, over the phone
after a wonderful conversation
about everything and anything
i love you
he said
and i
after pausing momentarily
said thank you
and hung up
