Ghost & the Lady
It's getting late and the sun has already set once again,
Funny how quickly these days go by until there's nothing left but time.
Always it feels like one day after another, on and on and on,
I wonder if they will ever stop- will Time ever come to an End?
Many miles away a lady counts the days down- waiting patiently,
For her Knight to return bearing a precious gift and a long awaited kiss…
Seems that I've been swimming like deadwood through these currents of eternity,
Getting lost in the ebb and tide of Forever, while trying to stay afloat.
While for the longest time, you wandered alone in a wilderness of pain,
Fighting to hold yourself together and preserve the sacredness of your soul.
Praying constantly for a light to lead you home, and a knight to protect you from harm,
Your desires are finally answered by a God of Chaos and Flame- who sends you a ghost...
A ghost who resides in a temporary body impervious to the feelings of love and hope,
Until the fire inside your soul slowly melts the ice of my heart, and lets me live again.
This long dead warrior poet's spirit exists to bring peace to your troubled soul,
Whether it is in the words I write, or the war I will wage to set you free from fear…
I will accomplish the mission given me, and with it perhaps set another soul free.
Maybe with each tear shed, each promise made- we can save what is left of US…
And scatter the doubts and fears that have encased us both in one never-ending night,
And allow us to reach the shores of Paradise- a place where our two souls live as one.
