ink cloud
something must be lacking
crumpled pages strewn at my feet
too empty to be folded
if it's a guilded cage that plays captor to my mind,
i'd pray for sunlight to identify it as such
to bake some hope along with blood
in permanence encrust its bars with what is real
crumpled pages
perhaps tears would fill them
bring them to life
and lend more weight than ink alone could ever do
reflection or confession
even if whispered to the page, brings life
in lines alone i have spoken love to you
and it is no longer enough
for me
it needs to breath it's own life to you
and chance that you may slay it
