I'll come to your mountain

12 days more and I'll see the beach and the mountain
between which your soul resides.
I've never seen your home, but I hear
if I wade into the waters, and turn my back on the ocean
lifting my eyes to the sky
I'll see a single snow-capped peak.
Mt Taranaki towering above me,
plumes of steam, blue grey (like my eyes, you say)
proof that life rumbles from within -
a volcano that does not sleep.
12 more days and I'll come to your mountain.
and life will rumble from within.
I'll wade in your waters.
and you'll welcome me.
A volcano that does not sleep.
