Afternoon Nap

The perfect picture of us
Would be taken now
If only the camera could capture
Wet droplets of condensation clinging to our skin
Just a bit more passion than is humanly resistable
Making it impossible to cover those last few steps of the hallway
with anything but the length of our bodies.
Rug rough and skin soft and vulnerable
The history is told
in the dripping water stain we leave behind us
once we make it to your room.
The cool air from a rainy day outside
loves my skin as gently as you do
with a soft cotton blanket to keep me as warm as your arms.
and we nap in the afternoon and
make the most of moments usually unappreciated.
