And so I let you go,
Just as I finally let go of the salty, burning tears
From the corners of my eyes,
That slip down the sides of my cheeks like wet-lip kisses.
I feel free from the ties that bind
And the release presses a crooked small smile to my mouth
That you aren't there to witness, pity that.
