Rob

these moments do little
to earn sharing
still they hear the single name
daybreak seeping through the
fringes of eyelashes or
sky dissolving into cobalt blue
in the wink of laughter or need
or splendor's quickening or even pain
it passes my tongue without a sound
my lips with lips closed
it is always there
like Mt. Rainier waiting
for my return.
