shroud

tourniquet around my heart
just stop and drop and roll away
down and out, where dark is bright
and blackness burns into the night
and howls
hell hath faded fury now
and i, immune, hath buried
fairytales
hath thou?
have you?
doth divine quench, in rabid gulps, your fear?
served as stew, the love you knew
and held dear
darling
flights of starlings
starlight starbright squawking
a string of blackened pearls flapping
entrapping vision to their forms
wrapping tightly woven bandages
on loosely dangling arms
take up arms
and lay them down

lay your hands
