If Walls Could Talk...

If these walls could talk,
What would they say?
Would they speak of the
restless nights
spent waiting for your touch?

Or would they speak of the
quiet mornings,
trying to recapture that
sweet vision of you
from my dreams?

Perhaps they would speak of the
endless moments
spent pacing back and forth,
impatient for the day when
we can be together
to arrive.

I wonder if they would mention
the many hours
spent watching a monitor,
waiting for a message
from you.

Would they fail to note
the importance
of the moments spent staring into space,
when doubts consume me
and it's all I can do
to keep breathing?

If they could speak,
I know they would tell
of the painful moments spent crying,
when all seems lost,
when the thought of
waking in the morning
no longer holds any appeal
without you here.

If your walls could talk,
what would they say?
I know what mine would say.

If these walls could talk,
they would tell you
how much I love you.
