Come to bed

Come to bed
sweet woman
the autumn wind is wild
in the night grass

the stars, like fairie chariots
in the chilly sky
ignore us in their courses
and race toward the dawn.

The candles now
are all gone out
the cares of life
are long below the hills

The night bird calls
and is sweetly answered
by her returning mate
to warm her nest
against the chill.

Come to bed
sweet woman
the autumn wind is wild
in the night grass
wild as my heart
for your embrace.
