full blown
things to be smoothed and forgiven
i, erosion
with haste must make amends internal
and wear myself of jagged edges
it's false to forget
that which precipitated
that which formed
i shear myself of shallow roots
to nourish growth
and re-establish
i shed myself the vengeful coat
and coax the cynical tongue to silence
in hopes that light
might yet burst forth
free to feel
but moreso free to give
i strive to be that which lives
as loving as the sun to seedlings
but i share the breath of november wind
and i worry love can't shake that feeling
