Glimmerwarming

Come here dear one---
throw back the sheet and see
what the moonlight has done to me
though perhaps you had hand in this as well.
Hold your hand an inch above my skin---
don't touch...yet.
There...it's beginning
to warm my flesh from the inside out
and I want you to feel it
because as I look in your eyes
it's growing like a subtle nova
glimmering like a easy star
caressing my belly and thighs
in a way
that feels so like your touch,
that your name is honey
my tongue craves,
your skin is the manna
I need to taste
and this is why
that first time
I was no stranger in your arms,
why there is never an off beat,
a stroke that goes astray,
or an instant when we touch the sky alone.
You are the glimmerwarming of my soul,
the fire banked by a love
that has waited for me
and knew me when I came.
