Lemmings
It's funny, isn't it? How many people walk in and out of our lives everyday? Never stopping. Just passing through without giving us a chance to like or love them. It's funnier still how we never stop them or take action. Surely they won't let us in their lives without reason. Perhaps a simple "hello" is enough for most. It's human nature, our fear of rejectionthat keeps us from voicing that two-syllable word. So, we will continue on the well beaten path of regularity. Are we all lemmings, content to follow others till the final steps? I can certainly say I was. Never willing to put my heart fully out there for anyone, but for one instant I strayed. Turning my ordinarily uniform head. No others were luckier than I in that instant. No others saw the splendor in my sight. I knew then I would not, could not follow any direction but yours. I will not be content to let you walk out of my life. So, I take a deep breath...
