From the Heart of a Poet

With words my tears spill to paper
As emotions are swept into life by pen
And I sing a song from the depths of a poet’s heart
To bid you listen dear one, once again.
Gentle spirit, constant love, hear my lonely cry
As I paint a snowdrop, ‘fresh in bloom
To sooth yon lovely eye
And beg you please, if you come right now t’would n’ere be too soon
As my words do swirl and form a song
That sings sweet love to you
Please listen close and hear my soul
I pledge to you most true
For with a poet’s words
And a poet’s heart of hearts
Your love is all I seek anon
Take it please for such shall n’ere depart.
I sing a poet’s song, from a poet’s heart
But for your eyes and heart alone.
