Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving...
A time for giving thanks
not for the good things
but for that which makes them better.

I知 thankful for 
my broken heart,
for without it
I would not have known love.

I知 thankful for 
my lingering illness,
for without it
health is taken for granted.

I知 thankful for
my loneliness,
for without it
companionship would mean nothing.

I知 thankful for
my enemies,
because of them
my friends mean so much more.

I知 thankful for
my failures
because of them
success is so much sweeter.

I知 thankful for
DEATH
for without it
LIFE would be meaningless.

I知 thankful for
the man in my closet,
for without bad
there can be no good
for which to be thankful for
on Thanksgiving Day.
