I once had a life
of complete emptyness.
Always losing
never winning.
Nothing ever seemed real.
I thought I'd never
love again or be loved.
Then a miracle.
I met this man
not face to face
On line.
The more we chatted
the closer we became.
We talked
of our talks with God.
How we prayed
to meet
that special someone
we could make happy,
and be happy with.
We must have said our prayers
on the same night,
at the same time
watching the same star.
We each had made
our own promises to God.
God was listening.
HE sent him to me.
I waited pacing
all throught the night
for his call.
until it finally came.
I told him
hardly breathing
I would be
right there.
I don't remember the drive.
Somhow I pulled into
the spot next to his
and walked inside
that ancient Dairy Queen.
It was
like magic!
I found his eyes
He found mine.
I smiled
and started walking
thinking the whole time
please let this be him!
He was so handsome!
Standing there
all smiles.
I knew
when we touched
he was home
he is my home.
I don't even know
if there was anyone else
in the place.
All I knew
or felt
were the arms
of the man that I loved.
I felt like a princess
in his arms
and will remain
Now and forever.
