I wish

       I WISH
I wish there were traffic lights on the
Roads of the mind
then, they'ed be a little more kind.

I wish there were red lights so that guys
Would stop and know
When they're moving too fast
And when it's time to go slow.

I wish there were yellow lights to show
I'm willing
And my, love they wouldn't
Be killing.

I wish there were green lights to say
"Move with care"
But for then to stop would be rare.

I wish I could hold up a "No-outlet" sign,
And hold it up above
To tell you there's no way out of
My love.

I wish I could hold up a "no U-turn" sign,
To tell you no turning around
If I confess, of a love so sound
you know that once your on the road,
there is no turning back.
Unless you want my heart to crack.

Tears would slowly roll down this street
The street becomes a stream
and my face would no longer beam
The cars would no longer be able
To drive, and I would neverbe able to feel
a love again that was real!
