Christmas wish

All I can ask
will not be this year
I'm sure.
Perhaps next.

One wish in the dark of night
upon the winter stars
of a dying year
one burning hope
hanging like my breath in the icy air.

Your lips alone can grant it for me
only yours
burning with a passion
that make the stars seem pale.

One kiss
at the stroke of midnight
as Christmas Eve becomes the morn
as two hearts forsake all else for each other.

The bells will ring
as every year
but not as joyfully as that night
A night to come, a night of dreams.

All I can ask
will not be this year
I'm sure.
Perhaps next.

My heart is patient.
My mind is certain
My hopes are endless
I can wait.

Not be this year
I'm sure.
Perhaps next.
