Metero Showers

It’s really dark back here
You and I bundled up, so cold
Ready to watch meteor showers together
Shooting stars, a show to beat all shows
My hands find your pockets for warmth
Stepping closer I feel your breath
More warmth and the smell of you
Leaning into you kissing your mouth
You pull me closer and I
Can feel your excitement
(It’s those stars in your eyes you say)
Our hands like heat seeking missiles search for warm flesh
We giggle like teenagers tickling each other
Let the neighbors think we’re crazy we don’t care
Maybe we are, nothing can stop this wild animal lust
Maneuvering to stay warm and have our own way
This after midnight frozen delight
With meteors shooting all around us
And us working on our night moves
We will be giggling about this when we’re
Eighty sitting in our rocking chairs
At the nursing home, no one will ever
Believe we were ever this foxy anyway
But we will smile remembering our frozen
Night of meteor showers and passion
