Train Boy

When I drove to work, my commute was about an hour each way. Then I moved.
Now I'm out the door at 6:15 a.m. drivin' to meet the train. I'm usually
early, just in case it might ever be. I read The Book of Mormon in my car
until the other passengers arrive. Last night I prayed so hard that today
would be the day I would meet a chick. I mean, why shouldn't I? Meet a
chick that is, I know prayin' for one 'ain't right.

I usually read on the train too. Sometimes I sleep. Sometimes I talk to
other train people, but they're usually older than me. Today is different.
I start thinkin' maybe prayin' was the right thing when I see what's
sittin' across from me. Man, she's cute. And she's got one of those
green leather organizers. Must be a student. Well, that's okay, I've been
told I look pretty young lately. Maybe in my 20's, even though I'm 37.
She probably can't tell my hair's gettin' thin on top if I slouch
down a little further.

I keep glancin' at her and I catch her eye every now and again. I wonder
what I would say to her if I got the chance. I bet she'd like me,
I'm a nice guy. I'm just not real sure how I'd go about lettin' her know
I'm a twice divorced Mormon with 5 kids and a brand new grandbaby.
At 37.
