anatomy
with cruelties
and avoidances
like a tracery of veins
leading in a surging rush
always towards
that vital organ
ever known as home
washing over us in
our sheltered cells
and leaving when
there is deep enough
of a wound
ferociously beating like
native drums
singing like a
choir of angels
transfused in
to keep vital
and given to
prolong sweet life
a divinely strange system
that makes our
existance worth while...
it's in the blood.
