if tracing pictures on his bare
back with your fingertips and reading
poetry to him by candlelight and feeding
him lasagna and garlic bread while love
songs play on the stereo and washing his
hair for him in the shower and discussing
Shakespeare with him in the nude and 
offering him your breasts and your heart
when he is bummed out over minor details
is not enough for him to give you more
than a locket to wear around your neck
then, Brandy, you best
send that sorry sailor
out to sea
and keep all options open wide
as you serve those schooners
of beer
