Two feet away
What can I say?
What can I do?

"There is an amazing girl
Sitting right beside you"
Shaken by the fear
Of a million before
I'm afraid of letting go
And being kicked out the door

But even if I did
Even if I were to try
If she were to even speak 
I would probably die

She looks at herself
As I look at her
Shying away
She really can't say
She has it better then she thinks 
So many of us are on the brink 
Of melting every time she passes
But all I'd want to do
Is hold her in my arms 
Lay her head on my shoulder
And tell her it's going to be all right

Lay a soft kiss on her cheek
Wave her goodbye
Then simply walk off
With my head in the sky

Look at me
From so far away
Why can't you see?
That you can't stand to be
Another face in the crowd

Look at this
No more then that
Try not to try
And the world has fallen flat
