The Last of 99
AT THE DAWN OF THE END OF INNOCENCE
WE MARVEL
WE GLOAT, WE SHINE, WE SWELL
UNDERMINED BY OUR OWN USELESS CONSTITUTIONS
WHERE TO GO IS NOT THE ONLY QUESTION THAT BEGS TO BE ASKED
ALSO HOW, AND WHEN, AND WHY
FOR WHAT ARE OUR GOALS
WHY DO THEY EXIST ONLY TO BRING A LITTLE MEANING INTO OUR LIVES
OUR OTHERWISE MEANINGLESS LIVES
AT THE BEGINNING YOU ARE TOLD WHICH WAY TO GO
NOW YOU MUST CHOOSE
CHOOSE WISELY, BUT MAKE HAST
IT'S A QUICK TIME IN A QUICK WORLD
SPINNING FASTER EVERY SECOND UNTIL IT SEEMS TO DOUBLE BACK
SO WE START A NEW WITH NEW VISIONS OF THE NEW FUTURE
NEW PLACES THAT WE NEWLY DECIDED ON FOR THE NEW DESTINATIONS
A SLIGHT CHANGE OF DIRECTION OCCURS
ALSO DIRECTION IS IGNORED
A STRAIGHT LINE WITH A CIRCLE IN THE MIDDLE
IN THE CIRCLE JOY AND PAIN GOOD AND BAD FAST AND SLOW
JUST LIKE BEFORE, BUT WITH A DIFFERENCE IN COLOR AND TEXTURE
ALL NEW AND IMPROVED
AT THE END OF THE LINE LIES TOMORROW
AT THE OTHER YESTERDAY
AND US ALWAYS IN THE MIDDLE
GOING THAT WAY
