Vipers in the Shadows
Trains rumble in the background
Rapidly my pulse pounds
Your name escapes the shadows after I had swept it there.
I try to hide your image, and play dumb at your existence
Eyes moisten at your mention
I struggle to not care.
At times- I longed to tell you of vipers in my shadows
But assumptions and reactions destroyed my will to dare
Now alone tastes bare.
Was it love I buried inward, or infatuation outward?
Conscience within wonders- did I startle you to flee?
As I search beneath the cobwebs, my mind poses the questions
Senses throb in silence
Clouded eyes peer out and see
That you are not left up to me.
