The Shy Knight

Ask of me, Dear, and I'll tell you a story
Of a Knight and his Love
And their Quest for Love's Glory.

The Knight was a young man--
'Twas barely a year
Passed since his beknighting,
When did there appear
A delicate young Maiden
In a village quite near.

Fair was the Maiden,
And her news traveled wide--
Both knights and knaves alike
With her sought to abide;
As did our hero,
So swiftly to her did he ride.

But the Knight was a shy lad,
And not much more than apprentice,
(especially with maidens),
And awkwardly, did he present his
Heart's desire to win
The love of this Princess.

You ask how it ends, Love?
'Does the Maiden pursue
Kinship with the Knight?'
How I wish that I knew.
For the saga's unfinished--
The end's not in view.
The conclusion is pending,
And I shan't misconstrue,

That the fate of this Knight--
----Myself---
Lies solely up to you--
---My Fair Maiden.
