Someone to Share the Snow With
outside our window there are blankets
of snow and sheets
of ice
but our world is here
in our bed
the refuge from the world that we
have found
toasty and tingling
tangled up in the sheets
that you always try to steal
from me
until I kick you
and you laugh
let's make a tent
with the blanket
and tell each other
revised fairy tales
like they used to be
when they originated
as stories for lovers
and I will bring you
hot chocolate with
little marshmallows
floating on top
and when we feel
sated we can bundle up
in our winter clothes and hurry
outside
and make angels
in the snow...
