Spinning

You took my hand
and my waist
and we danced.
Oh, that night!
And you pushed me
into a spin
and our fingers parted.
Your face, full of emoiton
filled my eyes
I closed them,
the sight of you overflowing.
I was afraid to lose any of that memory.
And I spun
arms out and head back
everything blurred
The world raced by
The sky became the ceiling
The earth tilted beneath my feet
and I spun
Nothing was clear
except everything in my head
the memory of your face
my balance faltered.
And still I spun
in circles
like a child airplane
winged arms spread and fingers reaching
and then I fell.
And now my head is spinning
my body, crumpled
Nothing is clear

especially everything in my head.
