What is Love?

Love is more about
the luck of the draw
than providence
about what you DO
rather than who you are
Love is not a game
     there are no rules
or a hand out
     there is no real charity 
         Lord, everyone wants SOMEthing
or anything other than 
     damn hard work
but     
          also the enjoyment of the
fruits of hard labor
It's hard
     But LIFE is hard
But if you don't gather to your heart
the sweet scent of love
how are you going to know what
happiness smells like
     or yes, pain
If you don't feel kindness to others
how will you know when
someone is showing some to you
