No Candy
maybe you're not wanting
to feed my neurosis
any candy before bedtime
i don't know
maybe you're wanting
to keep things
controlled and pleasant
and fake and gutless
because you prefer
lukewarm to hot
civil to wild
plastic to pulsating
there is too much of me
to love
I'm changing everyday
you pull a category outta
my paper bag
and we play improv
we play Think On Your Feet!
Just Go With It
free like
cool like
Time is On Our Side
Not on my side
of the bed
it isn't
'cause I'm always awake
and you don't know how to sing
the lullabye that could send me
on my way
you can't give me the fare I need
for that Sleepy Town Train
so I'm looking for someone
to stay awake with
until the Sandman comes
and blesses me with
at least one cavity inducing
sweet, sweet dream...
