My Dream

I saw you in my dreams last night;
You came and danced with me.
We waltzed across the fallen snow;
Our spotlight was a moonbeam.

The snow fell softly around us,
Sticking to our hair;
And life, for a moment, was magical,
Simply because you were there.

I awoke from my slumber slowly,
In my dream world still;
I thought I saw you dance
Across my window sill.

Then you were gone in an instant,
I blinked, and you disappeared.
But the haunting memory still lingered
And I could still feel you there.

You stayed with me through the day,
You followed me everywhere;
And when I closed my eyes,
I could see you standing here.

And so I'll close my eyes tonight,
And I'll fall fast asleep;
I will wait for you to come
To dance with me in my dreams.
