I Cry Inside
I swear on what i am,
You are all i'll ever be,
And what you hold inside your hand,
Is what's inside of me.
You grasp my heart and what it holds,
My love, my fears, and dreams,
And twist it all into peices,
And break apart the seams.
You show a smile while i cry inside,
While i wish that i could say,
All the things you mean to me,
And why you have to stay.
But you talk of another,
While all i can think is you,
And you hold out your hands,
Yet all the time i knew.
You hold your hands for the girl,
That you love with the purest of hearts,
And i could never match that love,
Though it lives inside my heart.
So i listen to your stories,
Hear the memories i can not share,
You show a smile while i cry inside,
Hidding the love i bear.
But, Brent, what else can i say,
Without giving away the truth,
I want much more than friendship,
God, all i want is you.
So i write this poem and read it twice,
One for me and one for you,
Hoping that somehow you'll hear,
And know that i love you.
And if i must wait a thousand lives,
I'll cry more everyday,
For you love someone else while i love you,
There is no other way.
