My Bribe

Yesterday I saw a rainbow- I hadn't seen one
of those in the longest time.
   Went to Hasting's and rented "Heartbreak
Ridge" and "Amos & Andrew." Bought Chase 
some stuff- a Prince and the New Power
Generation comic book (Three Chains of Gold),
a Shadow Man comic book (on the cover, there's
a man sitting on a cycle blowin' a sax), and
a yachting magazine. I wrote a note to send
with the stuff that reads,"Chase- I thought
you might enjoy these things. Consider it a
bribe. We women always have an ulterior motive-
don't let anybody tell you any different."
He hasn't called and I don't know why.
        At the Dairy Queen the two counter
boys fell all over themselves telling me
how gorgeous I am. Ego kiss. I don't feel too
gorgeous.
