A Glimpse of Puppy Love

as i sit at the computer in the
Chico Public Library
trying to dredge something up
before I go back to work
I observe a little girl
with long hair
talking to a little boy
with glasses
she's bragging about
all the toys she got 
for Christmas and he's
trying to top her
and then as she walks out
the door 
she says,"Bye, Mark! I'll be
seein' ya!" and she laughs
and he says,"Oh, no, you won't! You
bad, bad girl!"
and he hits the door
with his fist
and runs off to hide
behind the
books...
