Slip and Fall
Doesn't matter that we are both alone,
nor does the time and distance
grow smaller in December.
Has no bearing
whether or not feelings have changed
or whether this storm withers
as a new one surely approaches.
Nor does it matter
where you are
and who you are doing.
Doesnt matter to me at all
that we went thru the falls
of falling in love
once, maybe twice
moreover and again.
What only seems to matter
in this twisted
torn up life
is that everyday
i think of you
and as hard as i try
i can't see myself.
So if i may,
and i certainly can
will continue this maddening pace
in this faraway place
searching for the answers
that we both already know,
that falling in love again
just melts with the snow
and as the slush becomes ice again
a solid footing
doesn't last for long
slipping so quickly
the painful landing
still suprises me.
