What is to become of us
now that you've given up
on what we were and all we had?
How am I supposed to learn
how to love you as "only a friend"
when you were so much more before?
When are you going to keep up
your end of the bargain and call?
You didn't keep the first promise...
Why should I be the one
to make a new beginning
when you're the one who ended the last?
Who will you be the one
to come into your life and erase me
only to be remembered as a friend?
Will I make it through the day
when I find some other girl can
make you happier than I ever could have?
Can there be a time when I can
look at you and no longer hurt
or long for things of the past?
