Love Rebuilds

When my heart was torn asunder
by another love headed south
and despair was but a heartbeat away
You found me hidden there in the cathedral of my soul
Alone in the dark
and hiding from myself and the world
Content to pass the days in apathy
because apathy was better than pain.

And with no regard to the dark or the demons
you spoke.
'Arise my love, you are a stained glass window
and I would be the sunlight that lights your world
filtering your bright colours
so that others can see what I see'
'Let me be the flying buttress of your heart
supporting your weaknesses with my strength'
'And let me be the loom
that can weave a tapestry of pure silken love
that we can hang from the canopy of heaven
And adorn our private chambers in the glory you deserve'

And what changes you have wrought to my soul
For it is now a true cathedral;
One fit for a king.
And my heart is a mosiac of light
and laughter
and music
and colour and love
Oh yes, love
Long reign my beautiful queen!
