everyone should know by now how great and groovy
this thing is we've found

like me calling your father by accident
and pretending to be Kim Wu looking for Nikki Nikki Nu Nu
like me telling you how I drove all the way to Denton
just to look in the freezer and see Ben & Jerry's
Coffee Heath Bar Crunch
and not buy it
just take comfort in knowing it was there
you know I'm crazy
and you love me, anyway
like me responding to the au pair job offer in Italy
with a request for the couple to hire my friend
as a gardener of chauffeur
and telling you that you could even pretend to be my brother,
if necessary
and you reminding me that maybe that wouldn't be a good idea
because even in Italy
incest ain't cool
like you agreeing with me
that an inflatable pool in the den
is a great idea
and you're okay with my kooky collages on the walls
and strands of colored beads and pinatas hanging from the ceiling
just as long as you can display your cow skull and Southwest collection
the affection we feel for each other
is phenomenal
indomitable
it's just a matter of time
before the rest of the world
