Ending Blossomed June

ending blossomed June
a month filled with love
the gears turn slowly, figuratively
we wept, we danced and dined
while reading all of our words
the rainy season of tears becoming human
running out for brief stints as actors
the guild will never be the same
bar raised, records broken
how will we match the raw emotion
always a "cruel summer", the songs rarely lie
stare out windows dreaming up the next word
that will set our minds on fire
and running out of the burning, collapsing mess
will be words, rhymed or no...
tumbling one over the other, sometimes jumbled
rambled? only when they come out with brute force
and we re-read our favorites, favorite lines
time and time again, sharing them with loved ones
hoping for a similar reaction so that someone
someone we love, will feel what we are feeling
but not everyone is blessed with an eye for beauty
even though every eye is capable of seeing it
we stare out into space with the same eyes
that we look upon our lover
with the same eyes
that we use to scan for errors
they are the whore orifice of the body
in cohorts with the tongue
lashing out when silence was meant to be golden
and silence for silence's sake is a vacation
a trip to wonderland, with a pocket full of posies
we are misspelled in every language
yet we all think alike, in a matter of speaking

yes June will be remembered for some time
she was kind and lovely...beautiful and dizzy
she made a mean cup of coffee and kept track of the tears
but Oh July...she, with the upper hand
she, with the extra day...

a cruel summer indeed
for you
for me
